Basin for a sustainable water management project, the Netherlands

Project info

In Zeeland, we installed over 8000 m2 of Enpex FPP in a newly constructed basin on behalf of Joosten Kunststoffen.

Next to a holiday park in Zeeland, a basin the size of 20,000 m3 was excavated. The park owner has sustainability high on his agenda. Both rainwater and purified flush water from the holiday park is stored in this basin. The stored water can be reused on own property. But in times of drought, farmers in the immediate vicinity can also benefit from the fresh water to water their arable plots.

Farmers have suffered greatly from drought in recent years, and the availability of fresh water is obviously vital for their crops. With this ingenious system, farmers in the area have access to fresh irrigation water and the holiday park no longer discharges water into the sewer system.

The challenge of the project was in the size and unusual shape of the basin. To limit the number of meters to be welded on site, two prefabricated panels of FPP film were installed.

NPI specialises in contributing to sustainable water management projects with film solutions.
